During her career, Terri has worked primarily in the not-for-profit sector within family intensive support programs for children, adolescents and their families experiencing challenges through mental health, trauma, conflict in relationships, parenting, barriers to employment/ study, homelessness and addiction. For the past 9 years Terri has worked in the youth mental health sector providing psychological treatment for youth and adults experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, suicidality, self-harm, complex trauma, anger, grief and loss, disordered eating, addiction, and personality disorders.
Terri values working from a collaborative and strengths-based approach, and places high importance in building a relationship of trust and safety within therapeutic sessions. She has a strong interest in working to support the body’s natural and innate systems of healing, connection and wellbeing, and draws from a range of therapeutic frameworks depending on individual preference and needs. Some of Terri’s preferred approaches are trauma informed CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), polyvagal theory, emotional freedom techniques (EFT – tapping), family systems theory, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and solution focused therapy.
