At Two Minds Clinical Practice, Josh provides psychological and neurodevelopmental assessment to young people aged between 12-25.
Background & Approach
Josh has experience supporting young people across a range of mental health and neurodevelopmental presentations. He takes a comprehensive, collaborative and neuro-affirming approach to assessment, considering an individual's developmental history, current presentation and broader psychological context.
A particular area of interest is differential diagnosis, including understanding the overlap between neurodevelopmental, mental health and trauma-related presentations. While ADHD and Autism assessments are a particular focus of his practice, Josh considers the broader clinical picture and is mindful of how symptoms may present across, and overlap between, different mental health, trauma-related and neurodevelopmental conditions.
Josh's clinical interests include young people's mental health, complex trauma and neurodevelopmental presentations, with a particular interest in borderline personality disorder (BPD) in adolescents. He is also mindful of the ways masking and camouflaging can influence presentation and assessment, including in women and girls.
Josh has training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
His aim is to provide thorough, thoughtful assessments that offer clarity, meaningful insight and a sense of validation, while recognising the complexity and individuality of each person's presentation.
