Background & Approach
Monique is a Clinical Psychologist who studied and worked in Brisbane before moving to Bundjalung country (Northern Rivers) in 2018. Monique supports folks to establish safety within their body and mind so they can find balance, live meaningfully, and fully thrive.
Many of Monique’s clients are adjusting to significant life changes and seeking support to figure out how to navigate their new circumstances. Others have noticed long-term patterns in how they respond to the people and situations around them and are hoping to make some adjustments that create more ease in their relationships. Often, anxiety or depression have been a steady companion throughout their lives and is currently overwhelming their capacity to cope.
Monique is a queer cis-woman, and specialises in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, especially the trans and gender diverse community. All expressions of identity are welcome in her practice.
Monique’s warm and refreshingly human approach brings ease to the sometimes intimidating experience of therapy. Always working from a trauma-informed perspective, Monique draws from a range of therapeutic frameworks to best support the unique situation that each individual brings to therapy. Some of these include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Compassion-focused therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
