Sensory Profile Assessment

Why consider a Sensory Profile Assessment?

Daily life is full of sensory experiences. Sometimes these experiences support our routines; other times, they interfere with how we function.

A Sensory Profile Assessment helps you understand your unique sensory needs and how your sensory patterns influence your responses to everyday situations.

When we learn to accommodate these needs, the world becomes more manageable—improving comfort, participation, and overall quality of life.

What is a Sensory Profile Assessment?

The Adolescent/Adult Sensory Profile is a self-evaluation tool designed to assess your behavioural responses to everyday sensory experiences. It provides a structured method for understanding how sensory processing influences your functional performance.

The assessment covers sensory categories including:

  • Taste/Smell

  • Movement

  • Visual

  • Touch

  • Activity Level

  • Auditory

Responses are grouped into four sensory processing patterns:

  • Sensory Sensitivity

  • Sensory Avoidance

  • Low Registration

  • Sensation Seeking
