  • Dane Cohen is a Psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Psychology Board of Australia).

  • At Two Minds Clinical Practice Dane offers psychological assessment for children and adolescents aged 6 to 16 years, including cognitive, adaptive behaviour, and psychosocial assessments.

​

  • Dane also offers counselling to people throughout their lifespan.

​​

  • Dane is a Medicare provider, and can see individuals with a Mental Health Care Plan. He also has extensive experience working with people living with disability and is able to see people through their NDIS funding (agency, plan, and self-managed). Dane is registered with SIRA to provide psychological and counselling services to individuals in the NSW workers compensation scheme, or to those who have had a motor vehicle accident.

Background & Approach

 

Dane completed a Bachelor of Psychology at the University of Newcastle (2012) and a Master in Business Psychology (2019). He works for the Jeder Institute as a Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner.

 

Dane has considerable experience working in Out of Home Care as a Therapeutic Specialist and Psychologist with children and adolescents living in residential and foster care, identifying and treating a range of trauma and behaviour related issues. More recently Dane has been working within the NDIS as a Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner and Psychologist supporting individuals living with disability and various mental health challenges.

​

In his practice Dane utilises a relational approach, drawing upon elements from cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness-based practise, and trauma focused theory to inform his own style.

 

Dane has developed skills to specialise in the provision of evidenced-based psychometric assessment batteries to identify and diagnose a range of neurodevelopmental and psychosocial disorders.

​

Dane has experience providing assessment and intervention for people with comorbid disability, trauma, and mental health concerns. He is passionate about helping people to live with a good quality of life, and is driven by a desire to assist people with a variety of challenges along their journey to wellness.
