Background & Approach

Rebecca has focussed on providing trauma-informed and evidence-based support to rural and regional communities since starting her work as a Psychologist in 2003.

Initially travelling throughout north-western NSW to provide outreach to primary school children, a passion for learning and enhancing her skills led Rebecca back to study a Masters of Psychology (Clinical) in 2008.  Since this time, she has worked with a wide group of clients in both public and private settings. For the past decade, Rebecca has worked with adolescents and their carers in an acute mental health inpatient unit. Over this time, she felt privileged to witness the resilience and strength of this group and developed a strong interest in post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression and adjustment disorder, in addition to skills in the management of complex mental health presentations.

Rebecca’s practice is recovery focussed and informed by a number of therapeutic frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.  She believes strongly in the power of curiosity, and that compassion and collaboration are at the heart of a therapeutic relationship.
